About me

I have always had a passion for animals, especially dogs, I established a professional dog-walking business in 1989, taking care of and walking up to 30 dogs a day. I successfully ran my business for over 20 years. In 1991, I attended the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers, achieving 2nd Hons and in 1993, I was awarded a 1st Hons from the same institute. I became a member of the Institute for Animal Care and Education, completing various behavioural courses. I am also a member of Wolf Watch UK; an organisation dedicated to the conservation and study of wolves.

In 2014 I set up Canine Education, focusing on educating primary school children on the behaviour and needs of the dog and how to have a safe, happy relationship with them. We also showed the children how to deal with difficult situations with other people’s dogs and strange dogs they don’t know, teaching them how to avoid an attack or aggression.

Due to the lockdown, we made the school programme into a children’s book for teachers and parents to use.

My aim is to help teach people of all ages how dogs feel and how they communicate with us, helping to prevent aggression of all kinds by using:

“Training through understanding and kindness”
