My name is Shirley King, I am a dog trainer/behaviourist and author.
My aim is to help teach people of all ages how dogs feel and how they communicate with us, helping to prevent aggression of all kinds by using
“Training through understanding and kindness”
This book will help you teach your toddler that dogs can bite.
I had a 6-year-old nervous aggressive border collie called Sam when my son was born, and I had to teach my son from a very early age not to touch doggie, as doggie bites. He grew up with a healthy respect for dogs and loves them very much.
This book has been brought together from an educational programme I developed and delivered to primary schools, and can be used by parents and teachers to help children of primary school age. Having worked with dogs for over 30 years, I am passionate about educating the next generation on the vital message of understanding dogs and learning how to avoid an attack or aggression.
The purpose of this book is to help you understand your dog, its natural instincts, and why they behave the way they do. I assure you - what you see as naughty behaviour is normal behaviour for the dog. First of all, it must be understood and accepted that dogs are not humans and cannot be treated as such. They live according to their own very specific rules.
